School board announces intent to expand alternative education within county
A new type of education will soon be in Wellington and Dufferin County as well as Guelph.
Following approval at a board meeting earlier in the week, the Upper Grand District School Board will be establishing an alternative education high school at College Heights Secondary School (CHSS) in Guelph. Three alternative education learning centres will also be created in Guelph as well as Dufferin and Wellington Counties.
While the project hasn’t officially been launched at CHSS to date, there have been opportunities within tech and horticulture classes among other programs at that school.
CICW chatted with UGDSB Super Intendent of Education Carlo Zen about the new era of learning.
