Longtime Artfest Ontario director exits role, moves to new projects
Artfest Ontario is entering a new era, with a new team behind the festival this year after the departure of longtime director Lory MacDonald.
Artfest has been a staple event each summer since it launched 13 years ago, attracting hundreds of artists from across Canada and thousands of Kingstonians and visitors each year.
Director and founder of Artfest Ontario Lory MacDonald is moving on to new artistic endeavors. MacDonald announced the news in the organization’s latest newsletter, stating;
“After many incredible years as your President and Show Director, I am stepping away from the helm of Artfest Ontario. It’s been an extraordinary journey, filled with countless adventures working with talented artists and passionate art enthusiasts.”
MacDonald is passing on the torch to a new leadership team, while she shifts her focus to new artistic projects, including launching The Artist’s House, a project that will include workshops, artist residencies, and more.
