Queens Coast art tour dares to be different
Liverpool stained glass artist Scot Slessor wants the Queens Coast Art Tour to be memorable. He also wants the map for the tour to be just as unforgettable, and useful.
He’ll even show you how to make a paper airplane out of the map, which conveniently comes with a paper clip because it helps the airplane fly better if attached to the nose of the plane.
But that isn’t the map’s most important function.
In fact, Slessor wants people to unfold it to reveal the many Queens County artisans listed there and visit them during the Queens Coast Art Tour, this year on June 22 and 23.
More than 40 artists, shops and popups all over Queens County are plotted on the map, with QR codes that link to their websites or social media accounts.
Slessor says the art map and tour are all about promoting Queens County as an arts destination.
