“Star Wars: A New Hope” to receive a translation into an Indigenous language
The Star Wars franchise is only continuing to grow as Lucasfilm, the Dakota Ojibway tribal council and the University of Manitoba have agreed to translate the first film into the Indigenous language: Ojibwe.
These companies have entered a partnership with Disney and APTN to make the translated version of “Star Wars: A New Hope”. Auditions, sound recording and script translations will take place in Winnipeg within the next couple of months.
