Privacy commissioner says young people need protection for data privacy
It is Data Privacy Week. Privacy has been recognized by the Supreme Court of Canada as a right of all Canadians under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
Michael Harvey, the Information and Privacy Commissioner in NL, joined BayFM to talk about an international privacy agreements as well as the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act, 2015 and the Personal Health Information Act.
Harvey says young people today are very savvy but more vulnerable. He says laws for companies need to recognize that children are more vulnerable.
