Mayor’s motion to investigate daycare options in Belwood passes despite concern
Despite some concerns from staff at a Centre Wellington council meeting on Monday, Mayor Shawn Watters saw his notice of motion on childcare pass with slight amendments.
The motion was a proposal to get the ball rolling towards a new childcare facility in Belwood.
As amended, Watters’ motion will see letters of intent circulated from stakeholders as the project moves forward. These stakeholders would include the County of Wellington, Belwood Advisory Commitee and local officials.
Watters said cost of the project would be determined over time. The topic will return to council in June.
