Reflections from the front lines — Toronto company supports mirror factory in Ukrainian war zone
The logistics of sending a fragile product like a mirror is a challenge from anywhere. But to get mirrors from behind behind Ukrainian battle lines all the way to Toronto sounds like an impossibility, especially with no breakage.
Deki Home, a Toronto company which gets their mirrors from a factory in the Ukraine, is proof that is can be done.
Liberta is a factory in Dnipro, a city south of Kyiv, that sits on a river which leads to the Black Sea. Dnipro is one of the cities on the front lines of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
CJTM News talked to Eugene Ishchak and Denys Katana of Deki Home about the challenges of shipping the mirrors from behind battle lines, and why they think it’s important to keep doing business with the Ukrainian factory.
