Disc golf course opens in Fergus
FERGUS – The Township of Centre Wellington just opened its first disc golf course.
The nine hole course officially opened Thursday and is located beside the baseball diamond at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex.
Curt McQueen, chair of the Healthy Communities Advisory Committee, says it gives people something new to try even if they aren’t very athletic and it’s in expensive, requiring only a pair of running shoes and a disc. It’s also an inexpensive sport to play, requiring only a pair of running shoes and a disc or frisbee.
The cost to set up the course was approximately $10,000, relatively inexpensive compared to other sports as noted by staff.
You can access a map of the course and a score card on your phone by using the UDisc app.
