Creston honey company wins at American Honey Show in New Orleans
Honey Bee Zen, a Creston-based company, took first place at the American Honey Federation’s annual American Honey Show in New Orleans, Louisiana earlier this month.
The company won first in both the Creamed Honey and Water White Honey categories. Their creamed honey also won Best in Show with a perfect score of 100. This is the first time a Canadian company has won at the American Honey Show.
Owners Amanda Goodman Lee and Jeff Lee spoke with CJLY about their experience in New Orleans and the impact the success has had on their business.
Since their win they’ve seen an increase in orders all across North America. Goodman Lee also noted that they received an email from a beekeeper in Cape Breton, NS saying he was inspired to take up the practice again after quitting due to struggles keeping his bees alive.
