Remembering Robbie Robertson – Jace Martin talks about Lifetime Achievement Award that almost didn’t happen
When renowned and influential musician/songwriter, film composer and actor Robbie Robertson was given his Lifetime Achievement Award from Six Nations in October of 2017, what most people didn’t know was that there was a problem.
Six Nations singer/songwriter, artist manager, and performer Jace Martin wanted to honour Robertson for years only to be told that Robbie would never return to Six Nations unless a “problem” was dealt with. The problem was that he had lost his status when his mother married a non-native, loosing her status, in 1985.
In an exclusive CKRZ/Compelling Conversations interview, Jace Martin shares this fascinating story for the first time of how Robbie Robertson’s Lifetime Achievement Award almost never happened.
