Russell council listens to hockey advocates on rec centre concerns
Hockey team owners, coaches, managers and players filled Russell Township Hall beyond capacity on Monday to support a delegation to council on changes those community members would like to see in the design of the new recreation centre.
The next day, Mayor Mike Tarnowski recapped the meeting, suggesting that a better, more detailed floor plan was now available and it seemed to solve some of the issues. These include dressing room sizes being bigger than was first obvious, and some additional spectator seating.
Tenders will be presented at the next council meeting on June 17, and the final bid is expected to be chosen on June 24.
