Elks of Canada members meet in Corner Brook for provincial convention
While the Newfoundland and Labrador branch of Elks Club holds their annual general meeting in Corner Brook this weekend, top brass of the Elks of Canada are also attending.
Grand Exalted Ruler Don Gillis dropped by the BayFM studio today to share more about the meeting and volunteer organization, after being an Elk member for 25 years.
There are over 200 Elks clubs nationwide with over 7,400 members. Third National Vice President Luc Chouinard has been with the Elks for 33 years. He lives in Gander and was on scene with other members when planes were diverted to the airport. The event led to the creation of the popular musical, Come From Away. The Provincial Elks Convention wraps up on Sunday.
