Young Indigenous boxer from Six Nations gets first round victory
Thirteen year old Beth Smoke has won the 2024 Silver Gloves Female Intermediate (13-14 yrs.) Heavyweight Championship held in Independence, Missouri at the Stoney Creek Hotel.
The win happened on February 3rd. Smoke is a Six Nations Mohawk Wolf clan boxer residing in Sanborn New York.
She is a first-degree Blacks Belt in Taekwondo who has been training in martial arts since she was seven years old. In addition, she has been a boxer starting at age eight in Niagara Falls, New York, she is well disciplined and committed to training five days a week for as many as two hours a day.
Smoke won her first three boxing matches in Toledo, Ohio at the 2023 Women’s National Boxing Tournament. She currently trains at Fight Night Boxing Club in Niagara Falls, New York with a team headed by her grandfather, Billy Logan who is a USA Boxing Certified Coach and Official.
