Terrace Fire Department hires two new firefighters to improve response times, address shortages
The City of Terrace announced the hire of two new firefighters on May 31 to increase on-duty staffing and improve response times and address staffing shortages.
The two new additions to the department, Mike Krueger and Shayle Prins, bring valuable experience and skills to the team, according to the city.
CFNR spoke with Terrace Fire Chief Chad Cooper about the decision that was made to address response delays caused by a shortage of firefighters on duty.
Cooper also spoke about the recent transition to a 24-hour shift pattern earlier this year, resulting in improved rest and motivation for firefighters.
CFNR has more on the story.
