NL opposition says 51 people died last year from overdoses
Question period in the NL House of Assembly this week was dominated by a discussion about the lack of adequate supports for people battling drug addiction, mental illness and urgent mental health crises. Opposition Leader Tony Wakeham said not enough is being done, adding that last year, 51 people died across the province as the result of overdoses.
Premier Andrew Furey says government can always do more to address this evolving issue.
