Striking students at McGill face battle to build momentum
This Wednesday to Friday, over 500 students at McGill University and 9,000 students at Concordia are striking in protest of the Quebec out-of-province tuition hikes. Those hikes will see students from the rest of Canada pay an extra $3,000 per year.
CKUT spoke to Liam Gaither, VP External of the Students’ Society of McGill University (SSMU), about the uphill battle to build momentum against the hikes, which will largely be felt by future students.
