BC government provides funds to Kootenay music industry
Over $3.3 million is being distributed to hundreds of artists and companies for career development, live music events, business development, industry initiatives, and attracting out-of-province talent to record in B.C. The government made the announcement Feb. 7
Several musicians and festivals in the Kootenays are recipients of this funding, including Ru Rose of Slocan ($8,000), Ben Fox of Castlegar ($8,000) and Jayli Wolf of Creston ($25,000).
Festivals in the area set to receive funding are Shambhala in Salmo ($32,000), Unicorn in Salmo ($10,000), Tiny Lights in Ymir ($18,000), and Massif in Nelson ($13,000).
