West Kootenay Cycling Coalition studying feasibility for active transportation trail
Last week, the West Kootenay Cycling Coalition held a series of open houses from Castlegar to Nelson to gain input on their proposed active transportation trail connecting the two towns and communities in between.
Gathering feedback data from the community is part of the final stage of a feasibility study done by the West Kootenay Cycling Coalition, WATT Consulting and the Regional District of Central Kootenay. The study was funded by a $50,000 provincial grant that was secured through the Active Transportation Fund in summer 2023.
Solita Work of the West Kootenay Cycling Coalition spoke with CJLY about what they have learned from the public, and the next steps for the project.
