A group looking to have a community pool facility constructed within the village of Ohsweken are hoping that ideas and opinions from the public can help them bring the concept to reality.
Six Nations Councillor Dean Hill and local businessman Steve Williams held a community information session on Nov. 28 at the Six Nations Community Hall to hear feedback from the community about the project.
The potential pool complex proposed location is behind the Six Nations Sports & Cultural Memorial Center and the Community Hall.
Councillor Hill says that, based on community feedback, a movie area, library, gym and cafeteria could be some of the other features or activities included within the complex.
Hill and Williams are now inviting community volunteers to apply for a seat on the board of directors They say once the board has been determined, more updates will come in 2025.
